Hallelucination

A river of crimson light pulses before my eyes,
breathing, beating, and arterial.
Light coalesces into spinning green snowflakes and explodes!
Blooming forth into flowering green lilies.
Verdant emerald fields carpet my vision.
Overwhelming, all pervasive majesty surrounds me.
Tears flow slowly as I cry out in silent thankful wonder.
O, rejoice, all ye peoples, rejoice in the glorious:
Rejoice evermore in the power of the almighty!
Show me, let these eyes see, I beg of thee, Lord.
Spinning fractalized rainbow shapes:
Flipping, turning, expanding, contracting, an infinite image.
Awestruck by shifting patterns of every hue.
Bells and brass chime and shout, horns formed of great blooms,
All of existence extols your greatness!
Eyes, mouth, and ears agape, breath nearly stilled.
Tingling rapturous harmony climbs through me
followed by an unfathomable flood of symbols.
I peer forth in dumbstruck awe.
Hands enfold mine, arms surround me,
Blissful love, pervades me.
A sheltering in the cleft of The Rock.
You clothe us as you, well spun ropes of pure white.
Thou dost reign in blinding raiment,
o mighty judge!
A green vine shoots forth,
climbing from my heart out between my, your... our, enfolded hands.
I lift mine towards the sky, here in the night.
Raised, in sweet supplication, O, my namesake:
Name above all names, the surety of The Word.
All things, have you set forth.
My mind cries out in praise to thee,
The fount-spring of all power. light, and love.
I tremble with choking sobs within your infinite loving mercy.
Whirling white light forms a twinkling sphere,
revolving twixt the darkness tween outstretched hands.
Resounding golden light nearly sears my sight.
A square golden gate:
Vines, circles, lines, symbols, a palm print.
All of splendorous filigree.
A dark room, eyes staring forth,
An intake of exalting breath.
Hills of earth appear, rolling mounds
that turn to a vast carpet of clouds:
battle flaring beneath them with flashes of light
and eruptions of smoke.
All spins and twists into a red hued vortex
which forms the image of an eye looking back upon me,
Then towering black clouds, a great storm,
lightning flashing within it.
They seeth and roil.
Sight clears once again to a dark empty room.
Sounds, a whimpering inside to my left, and a screaming outside to my right.
I almost rise to check, but am calmed, and fear does not rise.
Thine hands hold me, and I hear.
thine hands lift me, and I see.
A screaming, not of this world, a soul in peril:
Sight rises from my eyes into the sky, an odd perception,
I can not quite explain.
A thing, a whirling inky thing, many hued and skittering,
poised by the water, a fattened serpent ready to strike.
It flows forth, like living paint that shines with a sickly oily light:
A strike denied as a shield of light intercepts the lunge,
and it recoils in terror and confusion.
Yet, it looks my way.
My sight rests again behind my eyes.
But the room is not empty.
Fear tries to rise, but is quelled.
Shadows form in the corner of my sight,
Looming up in horrific visage, framing a pale white face.
My eyes keep looking ahead, focused, and turning not.
Smokey visions float in front of me,
horrible grinning faces that can not stay formed,
for they dissipate as mist on the wind.
My sight is framed in a circle, and I hear :
"[Who do you think you are? You would dare?]"
Words now somewhat uncertain that I dare not fully quote.
Then... garbled begging and screaming, mewling and pitiful,
Circular clouds of flames consume the voices before my eyes.
All silent, once again, a still dark room.
My skin tingles from head to toe in a wave of breath stilling ecstasy
before spots of pain flare momentarily around my chest and abdomen.
Then all is still and quiet
